The word 'via' means way.  Life is a mixture of tragedy and celebration and for much of our life, there is no ‘way’ set before.

The Spanish poet Antonio Machado—Walker wrote “There is no road. The road is made by walking.” We've all experienced disruptive moments in life when we lose our 'way' or when 'way' has been imposed upon us. In the Christian spiritual tradition, Christ referred to himself as the Way, and his first friends were recognized as followers of the Way. As a counseling practice Via is committed to a distinctly Christian approach that recognizes Christ as the Way toward hope and healing.  Because life inevitably presents situations where we become disoriented on our path, seeking professional counseling can be a valuable resource to guide us back onto the way that leads to inner peace and freedom.

The logo, created by Meagen Russell at FolkHouse Creative, features a labyrinth—an ancient symbol often used in spiritual practice. It acknowledges that although it might seem like we're walking in circles, as we strive to be shaped by Christ, we are constantly journeying towards the true Center.

  • Thomas Merton, Thoughts in Solitude:

“My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going. I do not see the road ahead of me. I cannot know for certain where it will end. Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think that I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so. But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you. And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing. I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire. And I know that if I do this you will lead me by the right road though I may know nothing about it. Therefore will I trust you always though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death. I will not fear, for you are ever with me, and you will never leave me to face my perils alone.”
